Sponsors scientific research on Maine's coastal and marine resources. Help develop Maine's marine workforce through formal and informal education, fellowship, & scholarship programs.

New Hampshire Sea Grant

Fosters sustainable development of the nation's coastal resources. Supports research, education and outreach to help balance the conservation of coastal and marine resources with a sustainable economy and environment. Foci include aquaculture, marine biotechnology, seafood processing, the development of marine products, fisheries recruitment and conservation, estuarine processes and marine policy.

Massachusetts - Woods Hole Sea Grant

Increases the understanding, assessment, development, utilization, and conservation of the nation’s ocean and coastal resources by promoting a strong educational base, responsive research and training activities, and dissemination of knowledge and techniques. Supports research, education, and extension projects that encourage environmental stewardship, long-term economic development, and responsible use of the nation’s coastal and ocean resources.

Massachusetts - MIT Sea Grant

Supports innovative research that responds to human health and safety concerns, along with efforts that produce new tools, instruments, and pioneering technologies. Projects range from water quality forecasting for ecosystem-based state management to exploring tidal in-stream energy conversion to support science-based decision-making by local planning and management agencies.

Rhode Island Sea Grant

Fosters vibrant, healthy, coastal communities and marine environments that are resilient in the face of change. Supports research, outreach and education programs to address pertinent local issues in the areas of healthy coastal ecosystems, sustainable fisheries and aquaculture, resilient communities and economies, and environmental literacy and workforce development.

Connecticut Sea Grant

Works towards achieving healthy coastal and marine ecosystems and consequent public benefits by supporting integrated locally and nationally relevant research, outreach and education programs in partnership with stakeholders. Builds bridges between academia, government and the private sector. Foci include environmental, economic, social and education improvements. Solves coastal problems and develops new marine resources.

New Jersey Sea Grant

Promotes the wise use of New Jersey’s marine and coastal resources through research, education, and outreach. Research foci include hazard resilient coastal communities, healthy coastal ecosystems, a safe and sustainable seafood supply, and sustainable coastal development.

Delaware Sea Grant

Promotes the wise use, conservation, and management of marine and coastal resources through high-quality research, education, and outreach activities that benefit the public and the environment. Research foci include seafood safety to coastal hazards.

Maryland Sea Grant

Serves as a bridge between scientific expertise & the needs of people who manage, conserve, enjoy, & make their living from the Chesapeake Bay. Conduct scientific research, education, & public outreach to develop sound ideas & practices that enhance the Bay's ecology as well as the businesses & jobs that depend on it.

North Carolina Sea Grant

Provides research, education and outreach opportunities relating to current issues affecting the North Carolina coast and its communities. Foci include fisheries, seafood science and technology, water quality, aquaculture, community development, law and policy, and coastal hazards.
